Success for DTG at the trade show transport logistic in Munich from 4th to 7th June 2019

Logistik-Messe

Once again DTG was able to present itself at the 17th international trade show for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management. At this year’s show there were over 2,000 exhibitors and more than 60,000 people attending.

For DTG the trade show was a resounding success.

As in previous years, we were able to present ourselves as a co-exhibitor on the exhibition stand of duisport. EWT was also represented on the stand. Through the high volume of     visitors to the stand, we were able to meet with over 70 customers and speak with many other people interested in our services. The conversations covered wide-ranging topics, with many of them providing exciting potential for the future.

We are already looking forward to participating in the next transport logistic trade show, which takes place from 4th to 7th May 2021.

Use language to build bridges and overcome barriers.

When DTG decided over the last few years to expand its fleet to include new member companies, we realised we had to do something to improve our communication with those members, whose mother tongue is not German. To this end, we have negotiated an agreement with the company, which represents us in Stettin.

Adriana

Mrs Adriana Wroblewska,
has been employed by our representative in Stettin since 2007 and will now provide us with valuable support in our communications with our Polish-speaking members.

We are looking forward to a strong, communicative partnership.

FULL STEAM AHEAD IN 2019!

“The biggest mistake one can ever make in life is to be continuously afraid of making mistakes.”
(Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

In this light, after a year that was extraordinary in many respects, let us face the challenges together with courage and confidence and take advantage of the opportunities that the new year holds for us.

All members of the DTG Team and our colleagues at ARNO-Ship would like to thank you for the trust you placed in us last year and are looking forward to a strong working relationship in 2019.

From practice, for practice – new colleague in Duisburg

Lukkezen

On 2 January 2019 we welcomed Ms Wiete Lukkezen (32) to our Disposition Team in Duisburg.

After completing her training to become a skipper on an inland waterway vessel, Ms Lukkezen worked for several years at the helm of such vessels before trading in her captain’s chair for an office chair in 2014.

With her training and experience, Ms Lukkezen is a knowledgeable partner for both our customers and our members. Providing support to Tobias Engels and House Andernach is the focus of her role.

We wish Ms Lukkezen all the best in her new position and look forward to working successfully with her.

Fresh homepage

Our webpage is getting a big update. This will make it more elaborate, but it will also optimise how it displays on all end devices. Regardless of whether you view www.dtg-eg.de on your smartphone, a tablet, a laptop or a large desktop computer, the website will automatically adjust to fit the device accessing it.

Of course, as with every facelift, there are numerous technical and graphical details, which are new and which will enhance the website little by little. So that we are not only up-to-date with the latest content, but also look good in the digital world.

DTG & the GDPR

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is keeping all companies with a website on their toes – and not only in Germany. Us too. The GDPR is a European Union regulation that is designed to unify the rules for the processing of personal data by private companies and public authorities throughout the EU – according to Wikipedia.

It all sounds well and good. It makes sense too, but it hides an endless number of snares and stumbling blocks, which have not only meant that we have had to appoint a data protection officer, but we have had to make a number of updates on, to and in the background of our website www.dtg-eg.de as well. In actual fact, only a few points had to be implemented, but this had to be done.

As a user, you won’t notice any difference. And it does not have any effect on use. It simply works now, the way the European Union wants it to work.

App with vision

Our barge owners constantly have to fill out forms. Collecting documents, drawing up papers or at least signing forms. And many days or even weeks can pass before these documents actually reach us.

That is why we have developed a smartphone app for our barge owners. All they have to do is take a photo of the document and import it directly onto our system with the push of a button.

Of course, the app is available for both Android and iOS systems. It doesn’t matter whether it is a Samsung or Apple phone, the app is still used in the same way. It speeds up the transfer of important documents from the ship to DTG headquarters and simplifies the work for barge owners, so that they can complete an important step in the whole organisational process in next to no time.

From our origin to 2018

“When the winds of change blow, some seek out the protection of a safe harbour, others set sail.”

In a figurative sense, we will “set our sails” for you with our fleet and ensure that your goods reach their destination both punctually and safely in 2018, just like you would expect from us.

If pre-carriage, handling or onward carriage is required, we can make the arrangements for you.

The whole ARNO-Ship Team and their colleagues from DTG would like to thank you for the confidence you have placed in us over the past year and look forward to continuing our good cooperation this year.

COMMITMENT FOR WORKING LIFE

On First of September 2017, two young women started their apprenticeship in the headquaters of DTG in Duisburg.

While Jana Benli will be trained as an assistant of the business management team, Denise Köbke decided to become an assistant for freight forwarding and logistics services.

Both behaved commendably during their probationary period and showed commitment to their work. They integrated well into the DTG’s family and so we like to welcome both of you officially. We whish the trainees all the best and much success!
