“The last Mohican”

On April 1, 2022, our “old hand” Michael Langenhorst celebrated his 40th company anniversary in the cooperative.

On April 1, 1982 his “career” began at Elbia Eilfracht, which later merged with Transport-Genossenschaft zu Berlin eG to form Transport-Genossenschaft Binnenschifffahrt eG (TGB).

In 1990, TGB eG then merged with the then PTG Partikulier – Transport-Genossenschaft Jus et Justitia eG and thus founded the DTG DEUTSCHE TRANSPORT-GENOSSENSCHAFT BINNENSCHIFFFAHRT eG.

Mr. Langenhorst has been involved in all these mergers and has survived them all.

As he is mainly responsible for the payments to our members in the accounting department, he is for many the “most important man” in the house and enjoys great popularity.

We would like to thank him for his patient manner, his loyalty and his constant commitment to our members. We hope that he will remain with us for as long as possible and we congratulate him wholeheartedly on this special and nowadays quite rare anniversary.

Robin Schäfer from MS “Schönrain“ appeared on the TV show “Klein gegen Groß“

We are very pleased that the son of one of our member ships made a fantastic appearance on the popular TV show “Klein gegen Groß“ (Small against big) on 19.02.2022.

He did really well, not only in the challenge part of the show, but also in the short film about his life on board a barge. We don’t want to give too much away, so see for yourself:

Dear Robin, all of us at DTG take our hats off to your performance and would like to thank you for your great effort.

Positive development

Markus Liesenfeld

To continue our positive development in recent years, we are opening a new office in Frankfurt am Main on 3 January 2022. This will add a new strategically important part to the axis between our headquarters in Duisburg and the office of our subsidiary Arno-Ship in Schwetzingen.

To cement the success of this development, we will be joined by

Markus Liesenfeld

from 3 January 2022.

With his years of professional experience, Markus Liesenfeld has built up a solid network within the inland water transport industry and should therefore be no stranger to most of you.

“What’s impossible for one person can be achieved by many.”

After another challenging year that has demanded a great deal from all of us, this quote by Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen is as relevant as ever.

We hope that you will be able to use the Christmas period to come to rest and to reflect on the content of this message in the company of your loved ones. Only together with our families, friends and business partners will we succeed in coping with the challenges that lie ahead.

We would like to thank you all for the positive and cooperative partnership over the past year. We wish you and your families a peaceful holiday season and all the very best for a healthy 2022.Weihnachtgruss_2021

Personnel change in our Hamburg office

We are very pleased that Mr. Sascha Scharnow has taken up his position as authorized representative in our Hamburg office on July 1, 2021.

He should not be a stranger to many, because after his training as a forwarding agent and his military service, he has already spent half of his professional life with and in inland shipping.

Mr. Scharnow can be reached as follows:

Phone:                  +49 40 | 32 55 75-67

It’s time …

… to say thank you for the things of the past so that the things of the future can start well.

The “fairy godmother” of our Hamburg office, Rita Hammer, is retiring on 28 February 2021 after almost 30 years with our company.

We would like to thank her for her loyalty, her willingness to listen and for all the good she has done.

We send her our best wishes for the future, which will be very different from now, but also very special. Above all, we wish her good health.

DTG presents Alexander Calvelli

One of our DTG members made us aware of the industrial painter Alexander Calvelli, who is well-known for his photorealistic paintings of industrial, mining and shipping scenes.

We were so enthusiastic about his work, and so captivated by his personality, that we set up a small exhibition of his pictures in our offices in Duisburg – as the following photos show.

His pictures are a great idea as a present for special occasions, or for someone special from our type of business.

If you are interested in one of these pictures, or would like to view many further pictures, please contact the artist direct:
